Americans are on the top where the issue involves high rate of obesity. One of the reasons for this high rate of obesity however is the lack of recognition amongst Americans as to which particular foods are essentially good for health. A human body needs at least 1800 calories every day which can be easily available to anyone. But people do not understand how to keep in check the intake of 1800 calories and instead they end up eating unhealthy food which results in bad health and of course obesity.

Calories – A Source of Energy

So basically, a person must at least know what the right kind of food is and what particular food item has the perfect source of nutrients necessary for health. It is now a scientifically proven fact that calories are easily available and it can be obtained at cheap price as well. Calories are the source of energy in a human body. If calories are there, a person can do all day tasks without getting tired quickly, until the calories level is not low.

As a matter of fact, this very fact of having calories in check in balance is recognized by everyone globally. But in keeping the calories intact, what we forget is that we are eating unhealthy food which is leading to enormous obesity. So it is entirely wrong to suggest that people’s inability and lack of power of purchasing nutritious food is the root cause of obesity. This introduces us to the definition of ‘food scarcity’.

Avram Grant, an expert in the field and who has been contributing a great deal in philanthropy, denies that ‘food scarcity’ means lack of food. Instead, he argues that there is plenty of food, costly as well as non-costly which is good for health and prevents obesity. However, the problem lies in not knowing what type of food is nutritious and what may inculcate obesity.

Food Insecurity

Avram Grant identities that obesity is heavily impacting upon the lives of many Americans because the issue there is of ‘food insecurity’ instead of ‘food scarcity’. For insecurity is something which involves one’s inability to acquire food because of financial constraints or the failure of getting into a market for buying the food.

In the case of Americans, majority of obese-affected are facing the latter issue i.e. they couldn’t get to market for obtaining food. This is because laziness has overcome the energy in their body and even if they want to go but they are lame in getting out, walk and pay for the food. Instead, they prefer to order food while sitting in their homes or in a car when they are in take-away areas of a restaurant.

Consequently, they don’t have much options instead of buying unhealthy food which is rather a junk food.

Eat Healthy & Nutritious For Eliminating Obesity

The nature has equipped mankind with the power of combating obesity naturally. This battle can be won easily by taking care of basic needs of mankind like sleeping, breathing, engaging in activities, food and water. So if anyone is lacking either of them or several of them then it is impossible to improve health or fight off obesity.

It wouldn’t therefore be wrong to accept that food is the basic source upon which human survival is based. There is a misconception about the word ‘diet’ in which many people cut off their intake of food without knowing that survival is based on intake of food. Diet does not mean skipping food when needed otherwise it will worsen health conditions and increase obesity.

So the point is that we need to know what particular food items contain enough nutrients so as to keep a human body health and free from obesity.

End Thoughts

Avram Grant advises that if you are eating healthy food and maintaining nutritious diet then you can live a healthy life free from diseases and distresses, especially obesity. For reaching and enjoying high standard life, full of healthy, consumption of right food is hence instrumental.
