If you have a vacation booked to Captiva Island (or anywhere nearby), prepare for a trip full of endless activities and fun in the sun. If you are feeling overwhelmed by all of the enticing options, here are three must-do activities while on the island.

  1. Take a Boat Tour

There is no better way to see the beauty of the island than from the water, and you don’t even need your own boat to do it. Schedule a boat trip Captiva FL and prepare to learn about the flora and fauna of the island, and hopefully run into a few sea creatures, like manatees, along the way.

  1. Go Shelling

Sanibel Island is known for shelling, and it is only a short drive from Captiva. As well, Captiva also has its own great shelling beaches that are worth a trip. If you want the best chance at finding shells worth bringing home, make sure you get to the beaches early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Luckily, there are many different shelling spots along the seashore.

  1. Watch a Sunset

Find a great location (and there are many) to take in an amazing sunset. If you are lucky, you’ll get to witness the elusive “green flash,” which seldom occurs but is truly a sight to behold. The flash is most commonly seen over water, and even if you don’t see the flash, watching the sun set over the Gulf is still pretty amazing. Grab a cocktail and some appetizers and make an evening of it.

A trip to Captiva is exciting and offers many ways to fill your days. From sunning yourself on the beach to taking in the scenery by boat, you’ll have a wonderful getaway and likely won’t be able to wait to book your next visit.
