Over the past few years, Florida has seen a substantial rise in its population. More people are moving into the state for a variety of reasons, but the friendly tax structure, the many attractions, and the mostly year-round pleasant weather makes it a highly desirable place to live.

For those who are considering the more luxurious accommodations, what follows are the five most expensive places to live in Florida. Whether you want to live among the rich and famous or avoid the most expensive areas, this list will indicate which parts of Florida cost the most to live.

Bal Harbour

Located about 30 minutes from Miami, Bal Harbour offers quiet beaches and relaxing lifestyle all for the price of $1.22 million for a quick property sale within 7 days per home on average. As with most other locations listed here, Bal Harbour has created its own environment which includes exceptional shopping locations, beautiful beaches, and plenty of recreational activities to enjoy.

Its location does put it further away from Miami compared to places like Palm Beach, but you do get a better sense of privacy and isolation while still enjoying all the amenities.

Key Biscayne

An island on the southwest side of Miami, it may be surprising for some to learn that Key Biscayne is not the most expensive place to live in Florida. Boasting an average home price of $1.08 million, there is still plenty the town has to offer for those looking at luxury living. It’s relative closeness to Miami and many shopping, restaurant, and nightlife options make this the perfect place for singles and couples to live.

Palm Beach

Easily the most expensive place to live in the entire state, if you want to sell property quickly the average cost per home is $1.24 million. Known for its striking beaches, famous boutiques, and closeness to Miami, Palm Beach is located on an island which has created its own environment that caters to the wealthy. It is home to people of all ages and sports perhaps the most luxurious amenities in the state.

Plus, it boasts being close to Miami, so access is reasonable. For those who want it all or at least for all to be close to their needs, then Palm Beach is the perfect, if most expensive choice.

Pinecrest

You can find Pinecrest on the southwest side of Miami. A suburban town that boasts one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the country, Pinecrest has an average home price of $1.10 million. There is a real emphasis on outdoor activities in this community. This also means that while there is plenty of good shopping and fine restaurants, there is no real nightlife to speak of as the emphasis is on creating a quiet, pleasing atmosphere.

If you are looking for a quiet corner of Florida that is still reasonably near Miami, then Pinecrest offers a great location.

Surfside

For those who are not looking to spend over a million dollars for a home, Surfside offers many of the amenities of larger, more expensive towns at a lower cost. With an average of $695,000 home cost, for property cash buyers,  Surfside is located between Miami Beach and Bal Harbour. It offers plenty of festivals, events, and gatherings to make it one of the most vibrant cities in all of Florida.
